Note: The walking is the tiny bit of yellow at the eastern end of the route – only visible when zoomed in.
Not much to report today. I made the 252 mile (406 km) drive from Wichita, KS to Springfield, MO and, on arrival, walked the Springfield Conservation Nature Center’s “Long Trail” before heading to my hotel.
The big excitement when I arrived at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center was a small grass fire that was burning in the parking lot (there are a few flames within the smoke). A fire truck was already on the scene and the fire was quickly doused.
The “Long Trail” was, in fact, only just over two miles and was mainly in forest except for some boardwalk near the river. The weather was perfect, 80º F (27º C) and partly sunny.
Little nature was on display and the wild flowers are yet to bloom but it was a pleasant walk to stretch the legs after the drive.
That is a postcard perfect photograph. Thank you, dear Steve.
Love,
Kusum
