Road video and map (only from airport to hotel)
Our time together in Memphis came to an end today but it was memorable, fun and easily met our expectations for Southern food, music and history. Every destination, except Graceland, was walkable from our rented apartment and that was a nice break from driving for me.
We ate at Flight restaurant for our final dinner in Memphis yesterday. This is rated number 1 of 780 Memphis restaurants on TripAdvisor and it certainly lived up to its reputation. It has a wide range of menu choices but the unusual thing is that almost all of the dishes can be ordered as a flight of three sample servings. This is common for drinks but we had not come across this for the entire menu before. The wine list is extensive, they had a good choice of cocktails and beers as well as great service and ambiance. It was a wonderful way to round of the stay.
Today we had a final walk through town in beautiful weather before I dropped Rita and Christian at the airport. I am happy to report that their flight left early and is expected to arrive in DC early – unlike last year’s trip from hell. I then drove for just over an hour to Blytheville, Arkansas and checked in early so that I can plan the next few days of my trip.
Thank you and enjoy the rest of your trip, dear Steve.
Love,
Kusum
I’m sure I will. Thank you.
It’s wonderful that the three of you had this time together. I imagine that your conversations over your meals and drinks were as rewarding as the sites you visited. Thanks for your descriptions.
Absolutely. The time spent with friends visiting new places and hanging out is fun. As you have spent some time in Memphis I assume the places we visited are familiar to you. It is a great place to visit.
