The formal goal is to be able to say at the end of the trip &#8220;I have been within 100 miles of every point on the border of the lower 48 States.&#8221; In reality, I will be much closer than 100 miles most of the time and intend to stay within 50 miles except for a few spots.<\/p>\n<p>As the trip progresses I expect to\u00a0 update the blog daily but, I&#8217;m sure, there will be times when I am too tired, out too late, have technical issues or stay at a hotel with poor\/no Internet.
