I originally planned to stop for a walk in Big Spring National Park but Sunday night had seen continuous thunderstorms and it was raining for much of the drive so yet another planned walk was abandoned due to weather.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3916\" src=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Drive-to-Paducah.jpg\" alt=\"Drive to Paducah\" width=\"760\" height=\"532\" srcset=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Drive-to-Paducah.jpg 760w, http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Drive-to-Paducah-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/>Despite the rain, which was mostly light, the drive was very pleasant. I was traversing the northern Ozark Mountains for the first 200 miles or so which provided some nice views, the road was two lanes in each direction with a speed limit of 65 mph and traffic was light.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3915\" src=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Crossing-Ohio-River.jpg\" alt=\"Crossing Ohio River\" width=\"760\" height=\"456\" srcset=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Crossing-Ohio-River.jpg 760w, http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Crossing-Ohio-River-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/>The most interesting part of the journey was crossing the Mississippi and Ohio rivers close to their confluence.
