{"id":2666,"date":"2018-10-02T17:44:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T21:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/?p=2666"},"modified":"2018-10-02T17:44:00","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T21:44:00","slug":"a-quick-visit-to-prince-edward-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/?p=2666","title":{"rendered":"A Quick Visit to Prince Edward Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Tuesday Oct 2, 2018<\/h3>\n<p>Map and road video &#8211; <a href=\"\/Tripmapper\/Mapview2.aspx?DataFile=CanadianAtlantic\/2018_10_02_Charlottetown&amp;Video=ofSfrUDHQ8s\" target=\"_blank\">Margaree, NS to Charlottetown, PE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Little to report today as it was purely driving but I had to create a post so I can link to the map.<\/p>\n<p>The journey, from Margaree on Cape Breton Island to Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island was made more pleasant by the free ferry crossing which offered a break from driving. The shorelines seen from the ferry were low and not photogenic so I&#8217;ve added a couple of lighthouse photos, one at each end of the crossing.<\/p>\n<p>It will probably be a quick visit to the province as I want to spend a little time on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick and New England&#8217;s leaves are starting to become colorful.<\/p>\n<p>The tiny Caribou Lighthouse, built in 1971, guarding the ferry terminal in Nova Scotia.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2668\" src=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Caribou-Lighthouse.jpg\" alt=\"Caribou Lighthouse\" width=\"760\" height=\"509\" srcset=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Caribou-Lighthouse.jpg 760w, http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Caribou-Lighthouse-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><br \/>\nand the Wood Islands Lighthouse, which dates from 1902, and protects the harbour on the Prince Edward Island side.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2667\" src=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PEI-lighthouse.jpg\" alt=\"PEI lighthouse\" width=\"760\" height=\"621\" srcset=\"http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PEI-lighthouse.jpg 760w, http:\/\/relativerest.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PEI-lighthouse-300x245.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday Oct 2, 2018 Map and road video &#8211; Margaree, NS to Charlottetown, PE Little to report today as it was purely driving but I had to create a post so I can link to the map.
